Dog Licenses

For the comfort and safety of all, we ask that you leave your dog at home when you come into City Hall to conduct business. Although we enjoy seeing your four legged family members we would like to encourage you to be conscious of others. As always, certified service animals are welcome.

Process

Per RSA 466:1 all dogs residing in the City of Laconia must be registered with the City Clerk prior to May 1 each year. When registering your dog, you will receive a tag with the license number issued imprinted, as well as a paper license. The tag issued must be worn on a collar at all times. Please remember that a valid rabies certificate and proof of inoculation (if applicable) is required to register.

All dogs not registered with the Clerk's Office by May 1 will be subject to additional penalties as outlined below.

Did you recently bring a dog into your home?
As soon as the dog becomes a resident in your home, you are required to register them with the City Clerk. Please bring in a valid rabies certificate, as well as any inoculation certificate you may have.

Fees

 All dog licenses completed by mail will incure a $1.00 fee.
