City of Laconia Code Enforcement Department
The Director of Code Enforcement is responsible for the enforcement of all building codes and also acts as the enforcement officer for certain aspects of the zoning ordinances. The building official is the issuing agent for building permits (both commercial and residential), electrical, certificate of occupancy, demolition permits, and receiving health or housing complaints.
The Director of Code Enforcement is also responsible for building, electrical, and numerous other inspections, to ensure compliance with building codes and public safety.
The Director of Code Enforcement, in addition to his normal responsibilities, holds the title of City Health Officer.
