Members Awareded Employee Recognition Certificates for Cardiac Arrest CPR Save!

Members of the Laconia Fire Department were recently recognized for for their efforts which contributed to a cardiac arrest/CPR save which resulted in a motor vehicle accident.
The citation reads:
"On May 21, 2008, the Laconia Fire department responded to a MVA-CPR in-progress. On arrival they found a 63 y/o male patient had driven his car through a field and into the woods. CPR was in progress by two by-standers. The initial cardiac rhythm was asystole. Using ALS intervention, including the new EZ IO, the team was able to resuscitate this patient, carry him across the field and transport him to Lakes Region General Hospital."
The patient was released from the hospital after a short stay and has returned home.
